Whether they’re amateur fishos chasing marlin in little tinnies, softbaiting for snapper inshore, or charter or commercial fishermen heading deep in search of bluenose, puka and bass, you’ll find there’s one common theme: they all use FURUNO.

Incredible Catches by Incredible People

Right around New Zealand, you’ll find the people who are consistently catching fish count on FURUNO. Meet the fishos who make up the FURUNO Pro Team!

James Brown

James has recently returned to his home waters in New Zealand after spending 12 years fishing professionally in Central America running high- end Sportfishing vessels.
During this period he has used Furuno products, notably the Omni Sonar and S-Band Radar to help him release over 6,000 Billfish.
Back at home, he focuses mainly on Billfish in the summer months and Snapper and Kingfish outside of the game fishing season. James’ boat “Pacifico” is fitted with TZT3 12” and 9” Screens, Navpilot300, SCX20 and Airmars TM185MW transducer.

Dan Govier

Dan primarily fishes throughout the top of the South Island and West Coast
regions.  Growing up around the sea and being out on the water at any opportunity. This passion led him to study marine science at University and pursue a professional career working around the marine environment.

Dan has an extensive suite of Furuno electronics onboard his Senator including dual TZT3’s, a 19” flush mounted in the dash, and a 12” bracket mounted he also has the DFF3D module and NXT radar and SCX20.

Matt Watson

Known by several aliases including 'The Extreme Fisherman', 'The Fishing Guy', 'The ITM Fella' and "that mad bastard!" Matt Watson is a passionate fisherman, father and a proud Kiwi.  He's best known for revolutionizing fishing television here and around the world as well as being highly recognized for his commitment to conservation and charity work. Bruce Duncan

Bruce's favourite haunt is the magnificent Hauraki Gulf and few people know this bountiful fishing backyard better! Capt Swish has fished these waters all his life and is in great demand as a lecturer and writer on all there is to know about fishing the Gulf. He rarely takes his allowed limit, believing people should catch only what they need "for today". Equally, he refuses to freeze fish, saying it should be “eaten fresh”. Capt Swish is a big fan of FURUNO and currently runs a FURUNO TZTouch3.
