DETECT THE SIZE OF FISH UNDER YOUR BOAT WITH ACCU-FISH™

Unique to FURUNO, ACCU-Fish™ is a revolutionary fish size assessment function that can tell you the approximate size of the fish beneath your boat. ACCU-Fish™:

• Recognises individual or multiple fish instantaneously
• Displays fish symbols on your FURUNO screen
• Shows their length in cm
• Or it can show their depth

To assess individual fish size, the echo strength from the fish is computed and displayed as fish size on your screen. ACCU-Fish™ can detect fish size between 10 and 199cm in a depth of between2 and 100m. 

TARGET BILLFISH MORE EASILY

ACCU-Fish™ signal processing blends the high and low frequencies to show you fish targets of all types, simply, clearly and distinctly. Now, you can easily distinguish big billfish around a bait ball. You can even ‘see through’ bait fish on the surface to target ‘the big one’ below.

DETERMINE SNAPPER SIZE

We know that snapper will often be in a school of a certain size. With ACCU-Fish™, you can determine the size of the fish you’re targeting so you don’t waste time and bait or potentially damage a lot of small fish.

SEE WHAT'S ON THE SEAFLOOR

We know knowledge of the seabed can be extremely helpful when you’re looking for fishing grounds. It’s also very useful when you’re looking for good spots in which to anchor. The good news is, Bottom Discrimination gives you detailed and valuable information on the make-up of the seafloor. It identifies the seafloor as one of four categories:

• Rocks
• Gravel
• Sand
• Mud

KNOW WHEN THE SEAFLOOR CHANGES

The Bottom Discrimination (BDS) is unique to FURUNO. You’ll find it’s an ideal tool when you want to know what the bottom composition is. Locating the exact spot where bottom composition changes will often help you to identify the perfect habitat for fish like snapper or hapuka.

EASY-TO-READ DISPLAY

With the DFF1 or BBDS1, NavNet can show you the Bottom Discrimination information from the depth sounder echogram. The four categories (rock, gravel, sand or mud) are displayed in easy-to-read colour graphics. There are two Bottom Discrimination display modes for you to choose from:

GRAPHIC MODE

The standard graphic display shows you the most probable bottom composition by graphics in four colours.

PROBABILITY MODE

The probability display mode shows you the most probably bottom composition in graph form.

HOW TO GET THE MOST FROM YOUR BOTTOM DISCRIMINATOR SOUNDER

1) Use at a depth of 5m - 200m (DFF1-UHD), 5m - 100m (BBDS1)
2) Use transducer in transom mount or thru-hull mount
3) To show a consistent display of the actual bottom, set the range display of the Fish Finder screen to ‘auto’.
4) Enter the ship’s draft value
5) Use a ship speed of 10 knots or less

NOTE: In some instances, the bottom composition indicated on the display may differ from the actual bottom structure.
