Sounder

Sounder is a phrase that is often used in relation to such devices such as a Fishfinder, Sonar and the like as earlier variants “sounded” the seafloor to create images that were earlier displayed on paper graphs, and later CRT(Cathode Ray Tube) and LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) screens.

The generic term was also derived from the early terminology employed by people when describing a Sonar device (Sound Navigation and Ranging).

Sounders come in all forms from manufacturers such as Furuno that provide Sounders for Commercial shipping and Sounders for Commercial and Recreational Fishing.
